DBS NEW MANGA CONFIRMS CELL AS 10TH WARRIOR?

Hey there, fans of Dragon Ball! Today, I want to talk about the Dragon Ball Super manga chapter 31, which is about to come out shortly. The manga is currently about to enter the Tournament of Power, with the Tournament already having been announced. Now, each Universe has to gather warriors for the Tournament, and in Dragon Ball Super Chapter 30, we saw a glimpse of Universe 11, and Jiren.

This chapter, and more specifically, the first page of the upcoming chapter is something that has confused a lot of fans, including me. Please note that this post will have spoilers for the Dragon Ball Super manga. If you’re not okay with being spoiled, I suggest you don’t go ahead with the post. However, if you don’t mind a couple of spoilers, and like to discuss them, then let’s begin. Credits for the image scan, and the translation goes to KenXyro on Twitter.

So, let me get straight to the point. The first page for this month’s Dragon Ball Super manga has Cell on it. That’s right. Cell has appeared in the Dragon Ball Super manga. But does it mean that he will be a part of the manga? Will the Dragon Ball Super manga be different from the anime, and take Cell as the 10th member instead of Freeza? Maybe, it is possible.

Cell appears to be fighting someone in the panel, and looks heavily beaten up. He also says, “Unbelievable! Someone like this could exist…Even my power is no match.” It isn’t clear who it is that Cell is fighting, or if it is a flashback, or new material. Hopefully, it’ll be clear as the chapter comes out. But, right now, nobody really has any idea.

Honestly, I don’t think that’s Cell’s return going to happen for the Tournament of Power. Cell might’ve appeared in the chapter, but, I think it is likely a flashback, and nothing more than that. All we have right now is this panel. I’m sure as we get further panels, or better yet the manga comes out, everything will be clear as day. If it isn’t a flashback, then Dragon Ball Super has taken a big step by reintroducing Cell to the franchise, which I think most fans will be excited about.

In any case, even if Cell doesn’t return for the Tournament of Power, I think this is an indication that Cell might return in the future of the series. Maybe Toyotaro has plans, and this way his way of letting us know that Cell will appear eventually in the Tournament of Power. I would like that to happen very much. I think Freeza was given another appearance in Dragon Ball Super, so Cell certainly does deserve a chance. However, whether it will happen or not is something that isn’t clear at the moment. Yet, things are pointing towards Cell’s epic return.

THE REAL REASON WHY FRIEZA SO INTERESTED IN ULTRA INSTINCT

There is no doubt that Goku’s Ultra Instinct is the most powerful form of Dragon Ball Super right now. We haven’t seen other person who can achieve that. It feels like we are just introduced to Super Saiyan once again.  And unsurprisingly, we are not the only one interested in this newly achieved form by the strongest Saiyan of Universe 7.

Our favorite villain, the good ‘ol Frieza, seem to be having an unparalleled interest in Ultra Instinct too. When the form appears, he is one of the most emphasized spectators and he is focused on trying to understand how the form works. It can be observed how Frieza is very interested in the form. He even made the effort to give little energy to Goku just to see the form again.

During Goku’s battle against the remaining warriors of Universe 2, he was successful in breaking the heavy black whole by his blue Kamehameha. Likewise, Gohan was successful in eliminating the two Namekians with Piccolo’s Special Beam Cannon and his Kamehameha. After all these events, Frieza was seen to be expecting the Ultra Instinct and is quite disappointed when it did not appear.

We all know that besides from Frieza’s exceptional evilness, he is also a person with exceptionally high power level. And if there’s one thing that he can be interested in, that must be gaining the power to defeat Goku and rule over the whole Multiverse. And in that case, Frieza might be trying to learn the Ultra Instinct by watching Goku and at the same time, avoiding any major battles.

We also know that Frieza is not just an extreme evil. He can replace Quitella and be the God of Destruction of the schemer universe because of his schemes. It is not because Frieza’s head shines like an Oscar when he’s golden, but Frieza is actually one smart guy. The strength of his mind was demonstrated when he successfully defeated Sidra’s Destruction Ball by just his willpower.

There is a chance that when Frieza is also exposed to a helluva lot of energy,  and successfully calmed down, he can also achieve Ultra Instinct. If he achieves even the very basic level of Ultra Instinct, we would never know what he’ll do. But it will surely be a hell on Earth if Frieza successfully achieves it. And not only that, Vegeta will be very furious.

Summary of Episode 119

("Unavoidable?! The Fierce Stealth Attack!!")

As Vegeta and Katopesla continue to battle, Katopesla finally changes into his “Ultimate Mode”, increasing both his power and speed 300-fold. But the uninterested Vegeta attacks him before he can finish explaining about this form, forcing Katopesla to use his ultimate technique, “The Final Mission”. Vegeta though counters this with a Final Flash, which he offers as a superior example of a “final” technique.

Vegeta’s blast knocks Katopesla to the edge of the arena, but he just barely manages to stop himself before going however. Suddenly though, Katopesla tumbles over the edge and is ringed out. As Katopesla materializes in the bleachers, the U3 God of Destruction Mosco (via his angel) asks him what happened, but even he isn’t sure himself. It was like something attacked his feet…

At that moment, something nearly knocks Vegeta out of the arena as well, and soon after Gohan is kicked from behind and goes over the edge, though thankfully Piccolo stretches out his arms to rescue him. Something strange is going on, but nobody is sure what. Could it be someone using teleportation, an afterimage, or Hit’s Time-Skip skill?

No.18 is the next to be attacked by this mysterious opponent, and when Quitela laughs Beerus realizes this must be another one of his tricks. Roshi wonders if they might be dealing with an invisible person, and while Beerus can’t believe it would be something so old-fashioned, Quitela confirms that this is indeed the case. Still, knowing this doesn’t help 18 much, since it’s tricky to attack or defend against someone you can’t see.

Piccolo jumps in and unleashes a large blast from out of his entire body, enveloping everything in front of him (the same technique he used against Goku at the 23rd Tenkaichi Budokai). This way, he should be able to hit his enemy without aiming. However, the invisible enemy still manages to get away, and using such powerful attacks repeatedly will quickly train Piccolo’s stamina. Quitela’s plan is to wear them down like this and then ring them out.

Remembering the last time he encountered an invisible man, Roshi recommends that Gohan cover the enemy in something…such as a nosebleed. Gohan however opts to fire a series of blasts to create a cloud of dust, thus revealing the vaguely lizard-like outline of their opponent, Gamisaras. Now able to see his opponent, Piccolo wastes no time in defeating him. In the bleachers, Gamisaras apologizes to Quitela, and Beerus brags that such tricks won’t work against U7, but Quitela thinks to himself that they are just getting started.

Quitela orders the diminutive Shantza to get going, and Shantza creates a strange red zone around the U7 fighters. Trio de Dangers and other warriors from the destroyed universes appear, claiming to be back for revenge. Though Piccolo recognizes these as illusions, they are apparently still solid enough to attack him and the others, though their own attacks simply pass through their phantom opponents.

While the phantoms themselves have no ki to sense, Piccolo can still sense two people nearby: one moving, and one still. Gohan realizes that the still one must be creating the illusions, while the other uses the illusions as cover to attack them. Indeed, Piccolo soon spots Shantza hiding nearby and very easily blows him out of the arena, much to Quitela’s annoyance. The illusions and red zone vanish, but the second fighter still remains and continues his attack.

This final U4 fighter, Damon, is apparently another invisible person, but unlike Gamisaras he is unable to suppress his ki, and Piccolo confidently attacks him. For some reason though, none of Piccolo’s attacks connect, and in his confusion he is caught off guard and knocked from the arena. Materializing in the bleachers, Piccolo wonders what happened; it’s almost as if Damon is not only invisible, but has no physical body.

Goku saves 17 from getting ringed out by Damon’s attacks, and 17 soon figures out Damon’s secret. He stands still and closes his eyes, taunting Damon to come attack him. Not distracted by sight or ki-sensing, 17’s attacks zero in on Damon and finally reveal his true nature: a tiny bug person. Since everyone incorrectly assumed Damon was invisible, the discrepancy between the ki they sensed from him and his tiny size prevented any of their attacks from hitting.

Even knowing Damon’s secret, it’s still difficult for Goku and 17 to manage to hit such a small and fast opponent; what’s worse, they have to be careful not to kill him and get disqualified. 17 figures out that Damon has no wings and therefore must always jump to attack, so Goku repeatedly punches the arena, crumbling the ground beneath Damon’s feet and throwing him off enough for 17 to capture him within a tiny barrier.

17 kicks the now immobilized Damon out of bounds, and the Great Priest officially announces Damon’s loss. With the elimination of the last of U4’s fighters, the Omni-Kings prepare to annihilate U4. Quitela refuses to accept this and tries to take everyone else down with him, but before he can do anything, he and the rest of U4 cease to exist.

VEGETA’S ULTRA INSTINCT MIGHT BE TRIGGERED BY SOMETHING DIFFERENT

The thing about Ultra Instinct is that there is no real definition and requirements on how someone could attain it. Self-awareness can be attained differently by different individuals, so Ultra Instinct is expected to have different triggers. The only certain thing that seems to be needed in every Ultra Instinct awakening is an immense power that serves as the catalyst of the user’s awareness.

Goku got a natural gentle spirit, so it is his natural state to be calm and easy going. With this, Ultra Instinct is almost a natural phenomenon to him. And while Vegeta tries to imitate Goku, it is easier for him to accept that he cannot achieve Ultra Instinct the way that Goku did. Self-awareness doesn’t work like that.

But Ultra Instinct attack mode might be very different. You need to stay calm to avoid danger, but what if you wanted to cause danger? Vegeta is a man who can utilize his rage into savage attacking. He has thrown combos over combos to Beerus because of his anger when the God slapped Bulma. He was also able to do unexpected things because of anger.

If Ultra Instinct attack mode is the mode where the user will be able to throw unavoidable attacks, then Vegeta’s Quake of Rage can be the perfect trigger for this mode. Like a Lion hunting his prey, Vegeta will be able to attack effectively without letting his enemy rest in even a second. This, of course, will consume a lot more stamina. But what is good with Vegeta is his stamina is just barely drained.

When Vegeta reaches this new power, he will be the second mortal who reached Ultra Instinct. Jiren is not yet considered as an Ultra Instinct user because he is still not confirmed to be using the form. If Vegeta and Goku fused into Gogeta or Vegito, their Ultra Instinct will be the perfect form and might stand a chance against Jiren.

THE TOP TEN WARRIORS OF TOURNAMENT OF POWER RIGHT NOW (UPDATED AFTER EPISODE 118)

The double elimination of Universe 2 and Universe 6 has left us with two entire sets of new characters erased. Because of their erasure, they were automatically placed in the purgatory of Dragon Ball series where characters survive for canonicity and screen time. While the remaining warriors in the tournament are trying to bring the Universe 7 down. Here are the top ten warriors that are still kicking in the Tournament of Power.

10. Katopesla

Katopesla has (somewhat) survived Frieza, the two androids, and Vegeta. If you put it in simple words, he is like the Universe 2’s version of Satan, but 300 times better and does have a suit. We haven’t seen his other modes yet, but it is really an advantage for Universe 3. And because of getting the spotlight for his universe, I put him on number ten.

9. Piccolo

Piccolo is very effective if he is with Gohan because their combinations work really well. But based on Piccolo’s performance, he is not that efficient when left alone. Same applies to Gohan when left alone, but because of Gohan’s natural potential, he will come on this list later than his master.

8. Dyspo

Ever since his loss to Goku and Hit, Dyspo has been out of commission. His last major appearance is when he and Toppo tried to stop Ultra Instinct Goku. This guy may not have the same screen time as Piccolo or Katopesla, it is worthy to note that he can fight against SSG Goku and Hit pretty well. If he only got something more notable except his speed.

7. Shantsa and Universe 4 Hidden Warriors

Shantsa is that blue guy with red circle blushes from the Universe 2. He supposedly has an illusion power. It can create illusions that even the wittiest characters such as Piccolo cannot escape. This is a great indication of his illusion power. And with the hidden warriors at U4’s disposal, they are the most dangerous trio of the Tournament of Power as of the moment.

6. Gohan

Gohan has shown that his Ultimate Form is now free from rust that he accumulated from his slack after all these years. But it doesn’t also mean that he has improved a lot like his father and Vegeta. It was shown that while he has become in shape again, he can’t still fight in great momentum compared to himself when he was training continuously.

5. Vegeta / Android 17 and Android 18

No new transformation, no new technique, but got a helluva lot of luck in this Tournament, Vegeta is in the half of the list. He can run for the MVP is he set his mind into it. In terms of combat prowess, he might be near Goku’s strength before UI. But he was nerfed for a long time now and his rankings dropped below those characters that has grown while battling in the Tournament.

The two androids are on the half of the list  with Vegeta. While they can fight well on their own, they are more effective when fighting together. This makes them more of a unit together than a duo. They have the most amazing coordinated attacks after Kale and Caulifla.

4. Toppo

Toppo might not be the most popular among his folks, he is still one of the most powerful characters in Tournament of Power. He was able to fight against Vegeta and he also got the upperhand most of the time. He is not a candidate for God of Destruction for a reason.

3. Frieza

Frieza got the power. Frieza got the wits. And last but not the least, Frieza is still in full stamina. Stamina is an important factor especially because you cannot rest when tje Tpirnament of Power started its end. Overall, Frieza got the biggest chance among Universe 7 guys to stay on the stage in the last ten minutes of ToP.

2. Goku

With Goku’s Ultra Instinct, he is basically one of the most powerful warrior in the ToP. The only drawback is the form’s stamina drainage and short appearance. If he cannot maintain the UI, there is no chance that he can actually win against Jiren

1. Jiren

There is still no doubt that Jiren is the strongest mortal that participated in the Tournament of Power. The thing that we really look forward to is if Jiren will ever be defeated by anybody. That is why he is in the Number One list. No one could ever seem to defeat him than Goku.

WHY GOKU WON’T BE THE LAST MAN STANDING FROM UNIVERSE 7

Universe 7 is one of the most dominant Universes in the Tournament of Power, and along with Universe 6 and Universe 11.

Universe 7 has many fitted contestants left.

1. Android 17
2. Android 18
3. Vegeta
4. Son Goku
5. Son Gohan
6. Frieza
7. Piccolo

To guarantee their survival, they have to knock out the rest of the opponents.

But, the mystery remains, who will be the last man standing from Universe 7 in the Tournament of Power?

Well, this is a tough question, but I assume we can all admit that Goku, Vegeta, Gohan, and Frieza are their best fighters in the Tournament of Power. The rest are active as well, but these four always get particular attention, and they’re genuinely mighty.

What’re the chances of Goku being the Last Man Standing From Universe 7?

He’s been the only real focus of the Tournament of Power so far, so maybe they’re giving him his screen time early, and we’re going to see a spectator Goku cheering for other Fighters.

In Upcoming Episode 117 Ribrianne and others of universe two rush in to strike Goku, who activated UI and run out of stamina as an outcome. It looked like he would be taken out of the attacks of Ribrianne and her teammates, but then Android 17 and 18 come into help!

He’s been playing through his stamina, seriously more than any other competitor in the tournament.He already spent Super Saiyan, Super Saiyan 2, Super Saiyan 3, Super Saiyan God and now Super Saiyan Blue while Fighting Kefla and in the upcoming Episodes he is going to fight Kefla with Ultra Instincts.

Goku has been reckless, and I’m pretty sure no other opponent fight everyone and miraculously, Use Ultra Instincts twice and then somehow last until the end?

After achieving Ultra Instincts again and exhausting himself again, it’s possible Goku won’t be able to pull it off back.
